Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking an on-call Funeral Services Assistant to support funeral operations and assist client families with information, arrangements, and logistics.

The role involves preparing for services, handling remains in accordance with policy and law, and providing courteous office support. Strong communication and empathy are essential, with interaction across teams and with the public.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases; willingness to learn is required.
• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for services by arranging florals, chairs, caskets, urns, photos, and keepsakes.
• Prepare documents related to services and cremations as directed.
• Assist with dressing and handling remains in line with regulations and law.
• Answer phones, operate office equipment, and support multi-line phone systems.
• Support visitations, funerals, and memorial services including setup and transportation as needed.
• Greet and assist client families entering the office with information and help.
