Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Funeral Services Assistant to provide clerical and administrative support for funeral operations. You will greet client families, answer phones, prepare service materials, assist with visitations and services, and help with transportation and setup.

The role requires compassion, clear communication, proficiency with MS Office, and a willingness to learn. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with prior customer service or sales experience

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous customer service and/or sales experience preferred.
• Proficient with MS Office suite and databases preferred; ability and willingness to learn required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares for services by delivering and setting up floral arrangements, chairs, caskets, urns, photos and keepsakes.
• Answers phones, operates office equipment and maintains documents for services.
• Assists with respectful preparation of remains, including dressing and lifting, or crematory operations as permitted by law.
• Greet and assist client families entering the office and provide information.
• Runs errands for floral deliveries and supplies; assists with visitations and funeral services.
• May drive funeral home vehicles for services and family pickups and assist with transportation.
• Ensures refreshments are available where allowed by law; performs vehicle cleaning as needed.
