Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Family Service Counselor to serve families by delivering exceptional personalized service and driving revenue through cemetery and pre-need arrangements. This role collaborates with funeral directors and location staff to provide end-to-end support from at-need to aftercare, maintaining empathy and professionalism.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma (or equivalent), 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience, and a valid

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; 1-2 years of college or equivalent experience.
• 1-2 years of customer service or sales experience preferred.
• Drivers license with acceptable driving record; insurance license if required by state.
• Must pass the company’s presentation certification within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends every month.
• Ability to drive frequently; reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prospect and generate leads; dedicate 1-2 hours daily to prospecting.
• Obtain referrals from families served and build community relationships.
• Explain and present to families; track activity and productivity.
• Respond promptly to inquiries; build trust-based relationships for referrals.
• Prepare for appointments; handle all procedures with professionalism.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and staff to ensure seamless service.
• Follow up on customer problems and requests; ensure satisfaction.
• Promote pre-planning benefits to protect families in the future.
