Job summary

Service Corporation International is seeking a Family Service Counselor to prospect, present cemetery and pre-need solutions, and build strong relationships with families. You will prospect daily, obtain referrals, and network with community groups to generate revenue for the location.

You will collaborate with funeral directors and location staff, respond to inquiries with empathy and professionalism, and manage appointments with meticulous care to ensure top-tier service and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Must be able to pass the Company’s internal presentation certification within thirty days of hire.
• Ability to work evenings and/or weekends several times a month.
• Must be able to drive frequently and obtain/maintain an insurance license if required by state law.
• Proficient with computers and basic software.
• Customer service and sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead generation: prospect 1–2 hours daily and obtain referrals from families.
• Explain and present cemetery and pre-need solutions to families and referrals.
• Network with community groups to build relationships and drive referrals.
• Build relationships with families through attentive listening and tailored solutions.
• Prepare for appointments and follow through on all client inquiries and issues with professionalism.
• Collaborate with funeral directors and location staff to ensure seamless service.
