Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and families professionally and compassionately.
• Registers patients for emergency services with required information.
• Verifies patient identity and insurance details; updates records as needed.
• Obtains signatures on consent forms and explains each consent.
• Verifies insurance coverage and eligibility for billing.
• Collects co-pays or deductibles and informs patients of obligations.
• Assists patients with insurance requirements and questions.
• Documents appropriately if the patient cannot sign; nursing sign-off as needed.
• Notifies departments and physicians of arrivals and waits as required.
• Maintains armband identification for patients throughout stay.
• Maintains communication during emergency codes and alerts the facility.
• Performs other duties as assigned and maintains reliable attendance.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
