Job summary

StoryPoint Kalamazoo is seeking a caring Caregiver to provide personalized assistance to residents in our community, including daily living tasks and emotional support.

The role emphasizes teamwork with Wellness Leaders, adherence to 1440 care standards, and compassionate, reliable attendance. Prior healthcare or CNA/MA certification is preferred, with ability to lift up to 25 pounds as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous Healthcare, geriatrics or elder care experience preferred.
• CNA or MA certification preferred.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to instructions (written, oral, or diagram).
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate and competent care for residents.
• Assist with bathing, grooming, dining, wheelchair/walking escorts, toileting and light incontinence care.
• Assist with morning and bedtime routines and light housekeeping in resident rooms.
• Complete and document appropriate records in the log book.
• Work scheduled shifts and assist other shifts if needed.
• Maintain knowledge of safety and emergency procedures and company policies.
• Communicate resident care changes to Wellness Leader and families as needed.
• Attend community staff meetings and trainings.
