Job summary

Avamere Communities seeks a friendly Part-Time Server to join our memory care and assisted living dining team at Avamere at Park Place in Portland, OR. You will deliver excellent dining service, take orders, serve meals, and maintain a clean, welcoming dining room experience.

Hours are 4-7pm on weekends and 7am-7pm on weekdays. Benefits include health insurance, 401(k), PTO, EAP, HSA/FSAs, and more; prior experience with elderly residents is valued and compassionate care is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of high standards of food service sanitation and safety.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/First Aid Certification during employment.
• Current Food Handlers card issued by local Health Department.
• Friendly, attentive, and professional demeanor with residents and guests.
• Compassion for and desire to work with the elderly.

Responsibilities

• Accurately recording and delivering meal and beverage orders from residents.
• Promptly and courteously delivering food and beverages to residents, ensuring they are presented attractively.
• Providing attentive and friendly service, checking on residents' needs during meals, and addressing any requests or concerns.
• Assisting with setting up the dining room before meals, including table settings and condiments, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the meal service.
• Clearing tables after meals and resetting them for the next service.
• Taking and delivering room service orders to residents' apartments.
• Being familiar with the menu and able to answer residents' questions about the food and any special dietary needs.
• Interacting with residents and their guests in a professional and courteous manner, creating a positive and welcoming atmosphere.
• Following all food safety and hygiene procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
• Collaborating with other wait staff and kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient meal service.
• Dispose of food and waste in accordance with established policies.
• Other duties assigned appropriate to the position.
