Job summary

UPMC Shadyside is hiring a Full-Time Patient & Family Concierge in the CT Surgery unit 9D to provide compassionate support to patients, families, and visitors throughout their stay. The role coordinates destinations, assists with environmental services, dietary needs, patient transport, and manages supplies and equipment.

The 9D unit specializes in cardiothoracic transplant care, offering a collaborative environment and close teamwork with nurses and other clinicians.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or enrollment in a high school/GED program.
• 1 year of previous job experience preferred in lieu of HS diploma/GED.
• Previous experience in health care or customer service is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Destination Coordination: Welcome patients and families, guide them to destinations, and provide information.
• Environmental Services: Clean and organize areas, replenish supplies, report maintenance issues.
• Dietary Services: Assemble and serve meals per dietary orders and ensure safety.
• Transportation Services: Safely move patients, equipment, and specimens as needed.
• Supply & Equipment Management: Order, organize, and deliver supplies, monitor expiration dates.
