Job summary

The Nursing Assistant (NA) at Good Samaritan serves as a caregiver to residents in long-term care, delivering daily living assistance and basic health care under the supervision of a registered nurse. You will follow care plans, record vital signs, and support residents with mobility and personal needs.

This role emphasizes infection prevention, proper PPE use, teamwork with nursing staff, and participation in wellness activities.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred
• Minimum age 16; prior CNA experience in long-term care preferred
• CNA certification with State Board or enrolled in certification process; certification provided by facility
• Annual competency testing and 12 hours continuing education required
• In applicable states, registered with UAP Registry
• May be classified as Sanford Category II Driver with valid license

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care under RN supervision
• Assist with daily living activities and mobility
• Take and record vital signs; assist with nutrition and dining
• Follow infection prevention and PPE policies
• Document resident interactions and care outcomes
• Assist with wellness and recreational programs
