Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in State College, PA is seeking a compassionate Personal Care Aide to support residents with daily living activities and care needs. You will assist with mobility, meals, and program participation, while maintaining safety and quality of care.

You will report changes, follow policies, and participate in ongoing trainings, including CPR/First Aid. A flexible schedule including weekends is required, with uniforms and badge worn on shift.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Completion of an approved personal care aide program per state regulations.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
• Organized and able to work with all levels of staff.
• Contribute to nursing team and follow supervisor instructions.
• Polite and considerate of residents, visitors and coworkers.
• Able to walk and stand for extended periods.
• Lift up to 50 lbs; push or carry 25 lbs; transfer residents safely.
• Wear uniform during shifts, including name badge.
• CPR/First Aid certified or willing to become certified within 60 days.
• Represent the community positively; attend required trainings and meetings.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Report incidents with residents to the appropriate individuals.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Assist residents to and from dining and activities; monitor attendance.
• Check on residents and report health concerns to appropriate staff.
• Communicate status and appointments in writing and verbally.
• Provide emotional support during move-in transitions.
