Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is hiring a compassionate CNA/Direct Care Giver in Elkhart, IN to assist residents with daily living activities and meaningful engagement while following policies and maintaining confidentiality.

The role supports independent living and memory care residents, performs light housekeeping, and documents care. A flexible schedule including weekends and holidays is required.

Qualifications

• Must possess current CNA license from the State in which the community is located and in good standing with the Board of Nursing
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with activities of daily living and meaningful engagement
• Conduct activities and provide for a meaningful experience for all residents
• Perform housekeeping duties in resident areas as directed
• Report incidents and care concerns to RN/LPN or ED and document appropriately
• Assist residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support
• Communicate status and updates to residents and families as directed
• Remain calm and competent during emergencies
