Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (or equivalent) in a scientific discipline with 6+ years of related experience or Master’s with 4+ years.
• Experience with standard bacteriological methods including phenotypic, biochemical and/or molecular analyses.
• Experience in PCR/qPCR, ELISA, and related assays.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Analyze bacteriological samples using standard techniques (plating, Gram staining, colony counting, phenotypic, biochemical, and/or genetic analyses).
• Develop, validate, and maintain methods for identifying and characterizing biological threat agents.
• Provide technical support to multiple projects; mentor staff and coordinate project logistics as needed.
• Develop draft SOPs and supporting documents; assist in writing technical reports.
