The candidate will perform routine husbandry, assist with diagnostic procedures, and help maintain SOPs and QA records, contributing to biodefense research and facility operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in a scientific discipline with 4+ years of related experience, or a Master's with 2+ years.
• Formal animal technician training, or AALAS certification at the ALAT level, or at least two years' experience as a laboratory animal technician is required.
• Experience with nonhuman primates and agricultural species is desirable.
• Able to transport and lift up to 50 pounds as part of routine laboratory job procedures and duties.

Responsibilities

• Monitor animals for general health and administer medications.
• Perform laboratory diagnostic procedures and pre-/post-operative animal care.
• Provide routine husbandry and environmental enrichment per SOPs.
• Operate in biocontainment (ABSL-1/2/3/4) areas and maintain records.
• Contribute to QA/QMS and update SOPs and work instructions as needed.
• Work with team to identify and resolve protocol issues.
