Kindly Direct Care in Fair Haven, NJ is seeking a Direct Support Professional to work one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities. You will help build confidence, routines, social skills, and independence while staying connected with the Kindly team.

The ideal candidate is dependable, patient, and able to follow a posted schedule; driving is required. Competitive pay ranges from $17 to $21 per hour and onboarding will include background checks and training.

Responsibilities

• Take a 21-year-old adult with autism and ADHD to clubs and engage him in activities.
• Coach daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.
• Help establish routines and work toward personal goals.
• Model problem-solving and healthy community participation.
• Support decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.
• Provide companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.
• Maintain safety and follow individualized support instructions.
• Complete required documentation and communicate with the Kindly team.

You May Spend Your Shift

• Participating in taking a 21-year-old modrately functioning individual with autism and ADHD to clubs and engaging with him there in various activities.

• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.

• Helping establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals.

• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation.

• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.

• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.

• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.

• Completing required documentation and staying in close communication with the Kindly team.

Qualifications

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport.

• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability support, or caregiving is a plus.

• Able to commit reliably to the exact schedule posted below.

• Driving required.

• Able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training.

Schedule: Tues, Thurs. 2:30-6:30, Weekends flexible.
Pay: $17-$21/hour
