Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Fair Haven, NJ is hiring a Direct Support Professional to work one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities. The role involves mentoring, coaching, and helping build routines, social skills, and independence.

Schedule: Tue, Thurs 2:30-6:30, weekends flexible. Driving is required and onboarding, background checks, and training will be completed as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, human services, disability support, or caregiving is a plus.
• Able to commit reliably to the exact schedule posted below.
• Driving required.
• Able to complete required onboarding, background checks, and training.

Responsibilities

• Participating in taking a 21-year-old modrately functioning individual with autism and ADHD to clubs and engaging with him there in various activities.
• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.
• Helping establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals.
• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation.
• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.
• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.
• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.
• Completing required documentation and staying in close communication with the Kindly team.
