Job summary

Kindly Direct Care in Fair Haven, NJ is hiring a Direct Support Professional to work one-to-one with an adult with developmental disabilities.

You will mentor, coach, and encourage independence by helping build routines, social skills, community connections, and daily living competencies, while maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.

Schedule: Tue, Thurs 2:30-6:30; weekends flexible. Driving required.

Qualifications

• Dependable, engaging, patient, and able to build rapport.
• Experience in mentoring, coaching, education, recreation, behavioral health, disability support, or caregiving is a plus.
• Able to commit reliably to the exact schedule posted below.
• Driving required.
• Able to complete onboarding, background checks, and training.

Responsibilities

• Take a 21-year-old individual with autism and ADHD to clubs and engage in activities.
• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.
• Help establish positive routines and work toward individualized goals.
• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation.
• Supporting decision-making, self-advocacy, and confidence.
• Providing companionship and a consistent mentoring relationship.
• Maintaining safety and following individualized support instructions.
• Completing required documentation and staying in close communication with the Kindly team.

• Coaching daily living, communication, social, and independence skills.

• Modeling problem-solving, appropriate communication, and healthy community participation.
