Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Social Services Coordinator in Washington. This full-time, non-exempt role oversees the South King County Service Center, coordinating financial and in-kind support, back-to-school and holiday programs, and community partnerships.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, have 3–5 years of social service experience, and are able to travel locally. Strong communication skills and a valid driver’s license are essential for meeting multiple

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Five years social service experience preferred; three years acceptable.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Model an open, client-centered, compassionate, non-judgmental approach.
• Set boundaries and adhere to eligibility and other program guidelines.
• Meet and follow all Salvation Army policies & program requirements.
• Balance and manage multiple tasks and priorities.
• Respond to crisis situations in a calm, positive manner.
• Complete tasks, projects and daily requests in a timely manner.
• Provide effective oral, written, and electronic communication.
• Provide oversite of daily activities and day to day operations of the center.
• Attend agency and staff meetings as determined by supervisor.
• Banking / Billing- Make deposits daily as needed as well as process and code vouchers for payment.
• Budget, track, and provide financial stewardship for all Salvation Army funds and donations.
• Record, report and manage all in kind donations.
• Meet goals and outcomes set by the program and supervisor.
• Social Services: Interview and assess clients' needs; provide referrals as necessary; respond to client assistance requests within 24-48 hours; maintain client records and generate reports.
• Volunteer Management: increase and leverage volunteers; provide leadership and training.
• Community Collaboration & Outreach: promote programs via meetings/events; coordinate a monthly Service Committee meeting.
• Programs: coordinate and grow center programs (Christmas Distribution, Kettles, Summer Camp, Back to School).
• Emergency Preparedness- facilitate planning center preparedness and training.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
