Job summary

Orange County Government seeks an experienced recreation supervisor to plan, organize, and oversee diverse programs across multiple sites in Central Florida. The role includes supervising staff, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring safety and program quality.

The position requires a Florida driver’s license, CPR/First Aid within six months, and availability for evenings/weekends. Growth opportunities exist within Parks and Recreation, with comprehensive benefits provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of college education or four years of supervisory/lead experience in Parks and Recreation.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s license.
• Must obtain CPR and First Aid Certification within six months of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Supervises recreation center staff in the absence of the Site Supervisor and assists with training, coaching and evaluating staff and volunteers.
• Monitors operational areas including maintenance, programming, safety, fiscal operations involving revenue and purchasing.
• Develops and conducts diversified recreational programs and services at multiple sites (playgrounds, pools, trails, shelters, campgrounds, recreation buildings).
• Coordinates with contractors/vendors for field trips, events or programs and works with user groups.
• Consults with individuals and groups to determine recreational interests and needs; may work with neighborhood advisory committees or councils.
• Meets performance goals for center operations.
• Handles revenue collection and purchases using P-card; prepares and approves revenue documents.
• Opens, closes and secures sites; assists with maintenance; ensures safety and maintains inventory.
• Enforces rules and regulations for staff and participant safety.
• Maintains licenses/certifications/training to operate utility vehicles, tractors and related equipment.
• Performs other related work as assigned.
