Job summary

Orange County's Department of Environment, Agriculture, Parks and Recreation seeks a Recreation Program Coordinator to coordinate preschool and summer camps for children ages 3-5. Reporting under the Superintendent of Recreation, the position requires a bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience, with emphasis on preschool experiences

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in sports administration/recreation management or closely related field.
• Two (2) years of work experience in promoting recreation activities or programs, conducting recreation activities or programs, or assisting in the administrative activities of municipal recreation, campus recreation or leisure service.
• An equivalent combination of educational training and experience. A higher degree does not substitute for work experience.
• Experience with preschool programs and summer camps preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate preschool and summer camps for ages 3-5.
• Coordinate social, recreational, and/or educational activities including youth and adult athletic leagues, spring and summer camps, afterschool, preschool, specialized recreation programs and special events.
• Perform duties under supervision with independent judgment within applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
