Job summary

Sun Communities is seeking Maintenance Technicians to perform routine and preventative maintenance across our communities, ensuring clean, safe, and well-maintained properties.

You will handle home/building repairs, grounds care, snow removal where applicable, and basic electrical/plumbing tasks while delivering strong customer service to residents and coordinating with the on-site team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED (Required).
• 6 months in maintenance experience in the apartment or manufactured housing industry (Preferred).
• 6 months in snow removal experience, including operating a plow truck (if applicable) (Preferred).
• 6 months in demonstrated knowledge of and broad experience in general maintenance techniques and repair work (Preferred).
• Ability to lift at least 50 lbs.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• Ability to work well independently as well as on a team.
• Proficient skills in operating hand tools, power equipment, and commercial machinery.

Responsibilities

• Ensures trash/debris is picked up daily from common areas and streets.
• Completes minor repairs to rental homes and facilities as needed.
• Inspects irrigation system regularly and repairs as needed.
• Maintains vacant sites, including strap-downs and removal of trash and debris.
• Removes snow from community streets, parking lots, building entrances and other areas as applicable.
• Maintains lawns and performs basic landscaping duties.
• Performs water testing and maintenance for well-water/sewer systems if applicable.
• Reports maintenance issues to the on-site manager and completes checklists.
