Job summary

The Salvation Army is hiring for a food service role in Michigan. Prepare and serve nutritious meals for community participants while maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen. Maintain cleanliness, assist donors, and supervise volunteers to support programs.

Qualifications include a high school diploma (preferred), current ServSafe certification (or within six months), and one year of food service experience. A valid Michigan driver’s license is preferred; compensation ranges based on experience.

Qualifications

• Certifications: Current ServSafe Certification required, or within six months of employment.
• Valid Michigan driver's license preferred by insurance.
• Experience: One year in food services or institutional cooking.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals in a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, dining areas, and storage spaces.
• Wash, sanitize, and store dishes, utensils, and equipment.
• Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors and work surfaces.
• Receive, rotate, and stock food and supplies; monitor inventory.
• Provide courteous donor and visitor assistance and record in-kind donations.
• Supervise and guide kitchen and dining room volunteers; collaborate with team.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
