Job summary

Goodwill of Greater Washington seeks a friendly sales associate to be the face of our retail store in Alexandria, VA. You will provide courteous service to customers, ensure merchandise is stocked and labeled, operate the register, and help shoppers find items as needed.

Ideal candidates communicate well, handle cash accurately, and maintain a neat, welcoming store. Previous retail experience is a plus; bilingual ability is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with customers and team members.
• Provide exceptional customer service.
• Able to settle customer complaints.
• Perform basic math accurately.
• Stand for up to 7 hours per shift.
• Lift up to 40 pounds frequently.
• Basic working knowledge of computer applications and the internet.

Responsibilities

• Provides professional and courteous service to all customers inside the store, outside of the store, and on the phone.
• Rung merchandise accurately and keep it organized on the sales floor.
• Maintain knowledge of merchandise and answer customer questions promptly.
• Demonstrate cash handling skills, operate registers, and process payments.
• Maintain clean, neat store environment and assist customers with selections.
