Job summary

Avanath Capital in Chicago is seeking a Maintenance Technician to maintain our apartment communities and deliver outstanding resident service. You will diagnose, repair, and prevent issues while ensuring curb appeal and safety across properties.

You will perform preventive maintenance, respond to repairs, complete make-readies for new residents, and help keep grounds and facilities safe and appealing. The role emphasizes professionalism and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of multifamily maintenance experience.
• Hands-on skills in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and appliances.
• EPA Type II or Universal certification; CPO is a plus.
• On-call availability and reliable transportation.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills (Word, Excel).

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality maintenance and exceptional customer service to residents.
• Complete work orders and preventive maintenance per policies and safety standards.
• Perform make-ready tasks for vacant units and coordinate with vendors.
• Maintain grounds, common areas, and amenities; keep property clean and safe.
• Assist in safety inspections and inventory management for supplies.
• Follow all policies, procedures, and Fair Housing and ADA obligations.
