Job Title: Community Engagement Coordinator

Schedule: 40 hours, M-F during the hours of 8 am - 5 pm.

*weekends and evenings hours included based on events

Compensation: Starting at $56,500 annually

*Iowa Donor Network determines final compensation based on education, experience, and skills relevant to the position.

Position Summary:

As the Community Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for engaging with various communities and stakeholders to foster positive relationships and promote awareness of IDN’s mission and initiatives. As a key member of our Philanthropy team, you will implement strategic outreach plans, coordinate events and campaigns, and collaborate with internal and external partners to amplify our message.

Essential Functions and Performance Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate IDN’s involvement in strategic community and third-party events statewide, ensuring impactful participation.
  • Be the point of contact for community members organizing third-party events.
  • Attend community and charitable events as schedule allows.
  • Work with Manager of Philanthropy to coordinate volunteers.
  • Foster strategic partnerships to enhance engagement efforts across target counties and the designated service area.
  • Oversee Public Education and Driver’s Education Program
  • Update and maintain a comprehensive Public and Driver’s Education program aimed at increasing awareness of organ and tissue donation and encouraging donor designation.
  • Conduct or organize Public Education and Driver’s Education sessions upon request from community groups and organizations.
  • Collaborate in the planning and execution of National Observances & Celebrations, including but not limited to Donate Life Month, National Minority Donor Awareness Month, and DMV Appreciation Month.
  • Attend IDN signature events and collaborate with Philanthropy team as needed.

Position Qualifications and Education Requirements:

A four-year degree preferred. Experience with public speaking required and customer relations management (CRM) software experience preferred. Two years of community engagement experience preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Maintain a current valid driver’s license and be insurable through IDN’s insurance.
  • Effectively use computers and computer software including word processing, databases, spreadsheets, Internet tools, and electronic mail.
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing when representing IDN; demonstrate effective problem-solving skills; ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must receive required vaccines based on outlined schedules to protect our employees, healthcare personnel, donors, recipients, and families we may come into contact. (e.g. Influenza vaccine must be obtained annually by December 1st and COVID vaccine upon required timeline.)
  • Sit for periods of eight (8) hours or more at a time in an office setting.
  • Must display a high level of customer service and ability to communicate to a diverse audience.
  • Lift equipment and supplies weighing up to 20 lbs.
  • Require travel to the office and other external partner locations throughout the State of Iowa at any given hour of the day or night.
  • Require driving a vehicle under various conditions that may lead to visual and mental fatigue.
  • Work requires stooping, kneeling, reaching, and handling (seizing, holding, grasping, turning or otherwise working with hands).
  • Possible mental and visual fatigue associated with detailed work.
  • Express ideas verbally and convey detailed or important spoken information.
  • Receive detailed information through oral and auditory communication.

Employee’s obligation to maintain the confidentiality of information shall survive the

termination of employee’s employment with IDN.
