Base pay range

$51,000.00/yr - $67,000.00/yr

Job Summary

Protective Life Foundation processes hundreds of grant requests, typically awarding $4.5 million in nonprofit support annually. The Foundation also actively engages employees and participates in community initiatives related to civic, economic, health & human services, arts & culture, and education, especially in Birmingham near Protective Stadium. Since inception, over $90 million in grants have been awarded.

Responsibilities
  • Execute tasks within foundation projects, including convening meetings, drafting communications, facilitating, measuring, and reporting to stakeholders.
  • Support grant-making workflow, processing, record keeping, and payments.
  • Manage external projects, coordinating with Marketing and Communication teams for messaging.
  • Manage relationships with City of Birmingham representatives and neighborhood leaders near Protective Stadium.
  • Attend community committees and report to Foundation stakeholders.
  • Assist with the annual United Way campaign and Week of Service for employees.
  • Manage activities involving Protective teammates and local elementary schools.
  • Assist with office management and perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education
  • 1-2 years of community relations/development experience preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, project management, strong communication and writing skills, organized, detail-oriented, able to work independently and in teams.
  • Experience in nonprofit work or community projects preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
