Job description

Cahaba Riverkeeper’s programs support funding efforts and provide opportunities for outdoor activities that help protect and restore the Cahaba River and its basin across central Alabama. We monitor the waters, respond to pollution concerns, and work to resolve issues. Through our Swim Guide program, we educate the public on water quality, safety, and pollution prevention. We also offer educational outreach through media and a clean water curriculum for middle school teachers and students.

Member Duties:

1. The VISTA member will strengthen partnerships with universities to foster research collaborations, engage students with the Cahaba River, and improve data integration for public engagement.
2. They will connect with faculty to align research with organizational priorities, track projects, and promote experiential learning opportunities for students.
3. The member will also conduct outreach to new university partners, create educational materials, and refine reporting systems to enhance community awareness and engagement efforts.
