Job summary

The Children's Home Society of New Jersey is seeking an Associate Program Administrator of Community Based Doulas to oversee the coordination, training, and evaluation of doula services in prenatal, birth, and postnatal periods.

You will supervise a portion of the doula team, manage referrals, monitor caseloads, and ensure policy compliance while partnering with healthcare providers to improve maternal and infant health outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Maternal-child health experience
  • 3–5 years as a certified doula, midwife, labor and delivery nurse, or related experience
  • 3–5 years of education, case management, home visiting or supportive services for women and families
  • Familiarity with hospital settings
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to use a database for record keeping, supervision and reporting
  • Experience with program planning and management
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience working with a diverse workforce and clientele
  • Ability to provide direct service to returning clients

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of labor, birth, and prenatal/postnatal doula services
  • Maintain program policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Provide ongoing support and supervision to part of the full-time doula team
  • Review HR and Finance paperwork for doulas on staff
  • Receive referrals and match clients with appropriate doulas
  • Consult with doulas on non-medical questions related to clients
  • Monitor program capacity, caseloads, and timelines
  • Provide phone support and 24/7 on-call assistance for non-medical questions
  • Meet weekly with doulas to review caseloads and births
  • Maintain a calendar of visits and births with demographic data
  • Serve as backup doula when needed
  • Recruit and onboard community-based doulas
  • Daily check-ins with doulas for safety and support
  • Coordinate training, education, and supervision structures
  • Facilitate team meetings and case reviews
  • Promote trauma-informed and culturally responsive environment
  • Maintain documentation and collect data for reports
  • Support funders and leadership with data and reporting
  • Develop and maintain partnerships with healthcare providers and community organizations
  • Increase program awareness through outreach and engagement
  • Facilitate referrals and coordination with partner agencies
  • Support grant compliance, reporting, and audits
  • Assist with budgeting and resource allocation
