Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an experienced Transition of Care (TOC) Community Doula Mentor to support the integration of community doulas into a hospital-based care team. The role provides onboarding, coaching, and ongoing support to doulas across New Jersey, ensuring role clarity and retention within the network.

The successful candidate will have 3+ years as a certified community doula, with strong mentoring abilities, cultural responsiveness, and proficiency with hospital workflows.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years as a certified community doula, including labor and birth support.
• Experience mentoring, precepting, training, or coaching peers in clinical or community settings.
• Reliable transportation for travel across service area; flexible nights/weekends as needed.
• Knowledge of hospital-based maternal health care delivery and doula scope of practice.
• Strong written and verbal communication; empathy, discretion, professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Support integration of community doulas into the maternal health care team.
• Provide onboarding, coaching, and ongoing support to new doulas.
• Serve as a dedicated point of contact for doulas navigating hospital practice.
