Job summary

American Red Cross seeks a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support disaster volunteer teams, ensuring rapid and equitable disaster cycle services. You will engage diverse communities, coordinate programs, and build partnerships to strengthen local readiness and response.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or equivalent, 3+ years of related experience, and a valid driver’s license. You must be able to work nights and weekends and reside within a short drive of Owensboro, KY.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• A valid driver’s license and a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers and lead disaster cycle services across assigned area.
• Coordinate and oversee volunteer-led activities and projects.
• Engage communities and partner with local organizations.
• Support disaster response operations and readiness activities.
• Maintain relationships with volunteers and community partners.
• Meet targets for volunteer engagement and service delivery.
