Job summary

The American Red Cross in Missouri is seeking a Community Disaster Program Specialist to guide and support teams of trained volunteers in delivering comfort and care during disasters. You will build robust volunteer engagement using established processes and collaborate with volunteer services staff to keep communities prepared.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience.
• A current valid driver’s license with good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Empower volunteers and support a diverse team implementing volunteer-led disaster cycle services with cultural and linguistic accessibility.
• Assist with the successful implementation of specific disaster cycle activities or functions in an assigned area.
• Engage disaster volunteers who reflect the communities served, culturally and linguistically.
• Help prepare communities and engage partners to respond to and recover from disasters.
• Implement plans to meet targets for volunteer engagement and disaster response tasks within the geographic area.
• Serve as the local point of contact for partners and communities, collaborating with local organizations.
• Participate in disaster response operations within the region after completing training.
