Job summary

American Red Cross is hiring a Community Disaster Program Specialist in St. Louis, MO. This full-time role leads volunteer teams, coordinates disaster cycle services, and builds community partnerships to prepare for, respond to, and recover from disasters.

You will engage volunteers from diverse backgrounds, support program activities, and participate in regional disaster operations after completing training requirements. Excellent communication and MS Office skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent experience.
• Proven ability to coordinate staff and volunteers and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support volunteer teams delivering disaster cycle services.
• Assist with program activities in assigned geographic area.
• Engage disaster volunteers representing diverse communities.
• Partner with local organizations to mobilize communities before, during, and after disasters.
• Develop and implement plans to meet volunteer engagement targets.
• Serve as local point of contact for partners and communities.
• Participate in disaster response operations within the region after training.
