Chestnut Health Systems is seeking a Crisis Intervention Engagement Technician to deliver community-based outreach, engagement, and crisis services in Illinois. Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Personal recovery experience required and willingness to share lived recovery journey.
• Experience in human services and working with adults.
• Ability to obtain CRSS credential within one year of hire.
• Background in social services, teaching, corrections/policing, patient care, or lived recovery/work experience.
• Remain calm in potentially volatile situations; strong collaboration skills.
• Proficient in basic computer tasks including MS Word, email, and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, outreach, engagement, stabilization, safety planning, and linkage to care.
• Promote recovery by trauma-informed practices emphasizing hope and self-directed recovery.
• Complete documentation and data entry per program requirements, including plans and progress notes.
• Maintain timely records and ensure documentation is submitted on time.
• Build relationships with consumers, supports, hospitals, EMS, and community partners.
• Attend supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and program development activities.
• Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence and confidentiality.
• Provide backup support to team members and perform other duties as assigned.
