Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems Inc is seeking a Crisis Intervention Engagement Technician to provide community-based outreach, engagement, and crisis intervention services. The role operates on a 3:00 PM–11:30 PM schedule and requires collaboration with another staff member for most shifts, within Illinois.

The organization has a long record of integrated behavioral health with primary care, and emphasizes trauma-informed care, recovery, and collaboration with community partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience in human services and working with adults.
• Personal recovery experience and willingness to share recovery journey.
• Ability to obtain CRSS credential within one year of hire.
• Preferred background in social services, teaching, corrections/policing, patient care, or lived recovery/work experience.
• Ability to remain calm in volatile situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with consumers, staff, and community partners.
• Basic computer proficiency, including MS Word, email, and EMR.
• Valid driver’s license, private automobile insurance, and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide crisis intervention, outreach, engagement, and stabilization services.
• Promote trauma-informed recovery model and empowerment.
• Complete documentation and data entry per requirements.
• Maintain timely records and ensure plans are completed onsite and documented timely.
• Build and maintain relationships with consumers and partners.
• Attend supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and program activities including CRSS training.
• Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence.
• Protect confidentiality of information.
• Provide backup support to team members and other duties as assigned.
