Job summary

Chestnut Health Systems Inc. is seeking a part-time Crisis Intervention Engagement Technician to provide community-based crisis intervention, outreach, engagement, and stabilization for individuals with mental health or substance use challenges across several counties in Illinois.

This role requires collaboration with other staff and working varied shifts with a pay range of $17.00–$18.00 per hour. Responsibilities include safety planning, documentation in EMR, and building strong connections

Qualifications

• Minimum age 21 with a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrated experience or skills in human services and working with adults.
• Personal recovery experience required and willingness to share lived recovery journey.
• Ability to obtain CRSS credential within one year of hire.
• Preferred background in social services, teaching, corrections/policing, patient care, or lived recovery/work experience.
• Ability to remain calm in volatile situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with consumers, staff, and partners.
• Basic computer proficiency, including MS Word, email, and EMR.
• Valid driver’s license, private auto insurance, and insurability.

Responsibilities

• Provide community-based crisis intervention, outreach, engagement, and stabilization services, including safety planning and linkage to treatment.
• Promote recovery through trauma-informed practices emphasizing hope, empowerment, wellness, respect, and self-directed recovery.
• Complete documentation and data entry in accordance with program, funder, and agency requirements, including treatment plans and progress notes.
• Maintain timely records and ensure plans are completed on-site and submitted within timeframes.
• Build and maintain relationships with consumers, supports, hospitals, jails, EMS, and community partners.
• Attend supervision, staff meetings, trainings, and CRSS-related education.
• Promote Chestnut’s culture of customer service excellence and protect confidentiality of information.
• Provide backup support to team members and perform other duties as assigned.
