Job summary

Kahak Health Services seeks a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities become more independent and integrated in their community. You will support activities, reinforce daily living skills, and provide transportation as part of their plan of service.

The role requires CPR/First Aid, a valid driver's license, and completion of competency coursework, with strict adherence to safety and documentation during visits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• Ability to follow the plan of service and provide services accordingly.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Idaho criminal history/background check must be satisfactorily completed.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and current auto insurance.
• Current work authorization / Social Security card.
• Current physical exam.
• TB test with negative result.
• Resume required.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities and events identified on their plan of service.
• Reinforce skills such as communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, relationship-building, and participation in leisure and community activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and support skill development in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor for safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment for the individual and yourself.
• Follow each child's plan of service and complete required program documentation/progress notes for every visit.
