Job summary

Kahak Health Services seeks a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities participate in community activities and develop skills in real-world settings. You will reinforce communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, and leisure participation while ensuring safety and adherence to each child’s plan of service.

Role requires at least 6 months of relevant experience, CPR/First Aid certification, a valid driver’s license, and completion of required

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities (through work, practicum, internship, or supervised on-the-job experience).
• Complete competency coursework for Community-Based Supports as approved by the Department.
• Demonstrate ability to provide services according to the plan of service.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Pass Idaho criminal history/background check.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities identified on their plan of service.
• Reinforce skills in communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, and leisure participation.
• Assist with activities of daily living and skill development in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment.
• Complete program documentation/progress notes for every visit.
