Job summary

Kahak Health Services seeks a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities become more independent and integrated into their community. You will support activities, reinforce daily living skills, and provide transportation while following each child’s plan of service.

Applicants should have at least six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities, CPR/First Aid certification, and the ability to complete competency coursework.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Idaho criminal history and background check required.
• Reliable vehicle, valid driver's license, and auto insurance.
• Current work authorization / Social Security card.
• Current physical exam and TB test with negative result.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities per plan of service.
• Reinforce communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, and leisure skills.
• Assist with activities of daily living and skill development in community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment.
• Complete required program documentation/progress notes for every visit.
