Job summary

Kahak Health Services is seeking a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities become more independent and connected with their community. You will support activities, reinforce daily living skills, and transport to approved events.

The role emphasizes following each child's service plan, documenting progress, and ensuring safety in natural community settings. A driven, compassionate caregiver with relevant coursework and certifications is ideal.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Have at least six months of supervised experience working with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• Receive instruction in needs of the participant and demonstrate the ability to provide services
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Satisfactorily complete an Idaho criminal history and background check through the Idaho Background Check Unit

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities and events identified on their plan of service
• Reinforce skills such as communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, relationship-building, and participation in leisure and community activities
• Assist with activities of daily living and support skill development in natural community settings
• Provide transportation to approved activities
• Monitor for safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment for the individual and yourself
• Follow each child's plan of service and complete required program documentation/progress notes for every visit
