Job summary

Kahak Health Services is seeking a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities become more independent within their community. You will support participation in community activities, reinforce essential skills, and assist with daily living in real-world settings, not replacing school or therapy roles.

Responsibilities include transportation, safety monitoring, and documenting progress per the child’s plan of service.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• Six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• Receive instruction in participant needs and deliver services per plan.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Pass Idaho criminal history and background check.

Responsibilities

• Support participation in community activities identified in the plan of service.
• Reinforce communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, and leisure skills.
• Assist with activities of daily living in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy environment.
• Complete program documentation/progress notes for every visit.
