Job summary

Kahak Health Services in Idaho is seeking a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities become more independent and integrated in their community. You will support activities aligned with each child’s plan of service.

Responsibilities include reinforcing communication and self-care skills, assisting with daily living in community settings, providing transportation, and maintaining safety while documenting progress for every visit.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Idaho criminal history/background check completed.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities as identified on their plan of service.
• Reinforce skills such as communication, socialization, personal care, mobility and leisure participation.
• Assist with activities of daily living and skill development in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities as needed.
• Monitor safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment for the individual and yourself.
• Complete program documentation/progress notes for every visit per the plan of service.
