Job summary

Kahak Health Services is seeking a Community-Based Supports DSP to help children with developmental disabilities gain independence and community integration. You will support activities, reinforce essential skills, and ensure safety while following each child's plan of service.

The role emphasizes transportation, daily living support, and participation in age-appropriate community activities, with required documentation and supervision.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Six months of supervised experience with children with developmental disabilities.
• Complete Department-approved competency coursework for Community-Based Supports.
• Demonstrate ability to provide services according to the plan of service.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification.
• Satisfactorily complete Idaho criminal history/background check.

Responsibilities

• Support the child's participation in community activities identified on their plan of service.
• Reinforce skills such as communication, socialization, personal care, mobility, relationships, and participation in leisure and community activities.
• Assist with activities of daily living and skill development in natural community settings.
• Provide transportation to approved activities.
• Monitor for safety and maintain a healthy, safe environment.
• Follow each child's plan of service and complete required program documentation/progress notes.
