Job summary

The Salvation Army Southern California in Glendale seeks an Activity Coordinator to organize DMH client activities, and transport clients to appointments and housing interviews.

You will develop monthly calendars, coordinate volunteers and partners, monitor attendance and feedback, and manage supplies within budget. Strong communication, reliability and the ability to work with diverse populations are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
• Visual and auditory ability to identify and respond to environmental and other hazards of the site and facilities.
• Physical mobility and endurance to perform tasks while standing or walking for long periods of time (60 minutes or more)
• Ability to lift 20 pounds or more.
• Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis as needed to perform necessary duties.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain a monthly activity calendar that meets the interests and needs of DMH clients.
• Organize and facilitate a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, games, exercise programs, educational workshops, life skills training, holiday celebrations, and community outings.
• Encourage resident participation and foster a welcoming, inclusive environment.
• Coordinate volunteers, guest presenters, and community partners for special events and programs.
• Monitor activity attendance and gather participant feedback to improve programming.
• Purchase and maintain activity supplies within approved budgets.
