Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Commissioning Manager I to lead commissioning efforts on complex projects. You will drive the development of commissioning plans, write detailed test plans, and supervise field inspections, ensuring systems perform to design intent and schedule.

Strong collaboration with project teams and subcontractors is essential. The role requires advancing knowledge of QA/QC, design-to-construction handoffs, and an ability to travel up to 50% to support project sites

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience.
• Experience with QA/QC and design/construction document relationships.
• Travel up to 50% of time as required by project assignments.
• Strong communication, leadership, and client relationship skills.
• Knowledge of PPA, turnover requirements, and commissioning processes.

Responsibilities

• Perform scope of work technical reviews with detailed comments.
• Develop commissioning specifications, plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Lead field visits, inspect tests, and provide technical guidance.
• Direct functional performance tests and create commissioning plans and schedules.
• Draft technical documents, meeting minutes, and final reports.
• Conduct trainings and coordinate across disciplines to resolve issues.
