Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager to drive project commissioning and contract administration across large, complex assignments, planning and conducting work with independent judgment to adapt commissioning techniques.

The role requires collaboration with the scope team and Project Manager, leading tests such as NETA, SCADA, and controls, while ensuring QA/QC and turnover. Illinois-site presence and strong client relationships are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 10 years equivalent field experience.
• Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience.
• Electrical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scope of work technical reviews and provide detailed comments.
• Develop commissioning specifications and create plans, checklists, and tests.
• Lead field visits and provide technical guidance during inspections and tests.
• Direct functional performance tests and manage commissioning plan and schedule.
• Draft technical documents, issue resolutions, and final reports.
• Conduct training and coordinate across disciplines to resolve issues with contractors.
• Collaborate with scope team and PM to verify scope intent and maintain relationships.
• Lead system tests (NETA, SCADA, controls) and drive internal meetings.
