Job summary

Mortenson is seeking an MEP Project Manager I & II to lead MEP-dominant projects, ensuring quality, schedule, and safety while mentoring the team and strengthening client relations. Comp range varies by level and location, with eligibility for Mortenson's incentive plan.

The role requires managing budgets, coordinating trades, and overseeing commissioning and closeout activities. Travel up to 100% may be required. A degree in a relevant field and construction experience are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent field experience.
• Ability to manage development to closeout responsibilities for complex projects.
• Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to organize and manage multiple project tasks.
• Positive, professional attitude with strong customer service skills.
• Active listening and effective communication skills; open to diverse input and feedback.
• Must be able to travel up to 100%.

Responsibilities

• Manage overall financial health of projects.
• Develop and maintain project financial and equipment projections.
• Allocate project estimate into financial system, determine cost codes, approve invoices, manage budget.
• Provide financials and billings to Accounting for timely payment, create monthly owner billings.
• Oversee budget and select trade partners and suppliers, handle billings and contract management.
• Oversee 3-D coordination process to resolve conflicts before installation.
• Direct and manage commissioning process, including start-up plan, COT, schedule, and functional testing.
• Lead project closeout activities, including operations and maintenance manuals, model turnover, and training.
• Manage Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s), provide job assignments, career development, and feedback.
• Function as main contact with owner and on-site representative, resolve site concerns, build positive relationships.
