Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Commissioning Manager to lead project commissioning activities and contract administration for large, complex assignments at Minnesota project sites. You will plan, execute, and refine commissioning work with independent judgment across multiple trades while coordinating with project teams and clients.

The role requires experience in commissioning processes, field tests (NETA/SCADA/controls), and development of commissioning plans, with strong communication and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or 10 years of equivalent field experience.
• Minimum six years of construction management or commissioning experience, preferably with an MEP contractor or commissioning firm.
• Strong communication and client relationship skills.
• Understanding of PPA, QA/QC, and design-to-construction turnover.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical reviews and provide detailed comments and recommendations.
• Develop commissioning specs, plans, checklists, and tests for systems.
• Lead field visits, inspections, tests, and provide technical guidance.
• Direct functional tests, create commissioning plan and schedule.
• Draft issue resolutions, lessons learned, and final reports.
• Conduct training and coordinate with construction teams to resolve issues.
