Job summary

DEI Incorporated is seeking a Commercial Construction Assistant Project Manager to support commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This is an office-based role in Cincinnati, requiring collaboration with project teams and subcontractors.

You will assist with planning, documentation, RFIs, submittals, and cost tracking while developing skills to advance toward Project Manager responsibilities. Occasional travel is expected.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting construction drawings.
• Strong organizational and document-management skills.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Full-time office-based role in Cincinnati.
• Approximately 10% travel as needed.
• Interest in building a long-term career in commercial construction.

Responsibilities

• Support project planning, documentation, scheduling, and cost control.
• Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
• Prepare, track, and coordinate RFIs and submittals.
• Assist with change orders, project documentation, and subcontractor coordination.
• Support project scheduling updates and milestone tracking.
• Participate in drawing reviews and quantity take-offs.
• Assist with buyout, bid comparisons, and subcontractor procurement.
• Process and review project documentation, invoices, and cost information.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, superintendents, and subcontractors.
• Support project closeout and turnover activities.
• Travel occasionally to project sites as required.
