Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience assisting PMs on commercial construction projects.
• Experience with RFI, submittals, change orders, drawings, and schedules.
• Experience coordinating with subs, vendors, PMs, SMs, architects or engineers.
• Experience with subcontractor buyout, bid solicitation, takeoffs, estimating support, or cost tracking.
• Familiarity with Procore or comparable PM software.

Assistant Construction Project Manager - Construction - Base Salary to 75k/year - Cincinnati, OH

• Our client, an established commercial general contractor, is seeking an Assistant Construction Project Manager to support projects from preconstruction and estimating through construction and closeout. This position works alongside Project Managers and field teams with a focus on project documentation, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, buyout, cost tracking, and construction administration.
• The Assistant Construction Project Manager will coordinate RFIs, submittals, change orders, construction drawings, bidder lists, subcontractor invoices, payment applications, and other project documentation while assisting with estimating, procurement, and project closeout. This role provides hands-on exposure to the full commercial construction project lifecycle while supporting both office and field operations.

Responsibilities

• Draft, submit, and track Requests for Information (RFIs), submittals, change orders, purchase order requests, and related construction documentation
• Prepare project meeting agendas, document meeting notes, and distribute project information to appropriate team members
• Assist with developing and updating project schedules, tracking milestones, and monitoring progress against the master construction schedule
• Participate in weekly project meetings and other project team meetings as required
• Support subcontractor buyout preparation, bid solicitation, bidder list development, and buyout summary tracking
• Review construction drawings and design documents at the 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% stages
• Assist with quantity takeoffs and estimating activities
• Process subcontractor invoices, assist with monthly payment applications, and track project expenses and cost documentation
• Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors regarding project documentation, schedules, procurement, and construction requirements
• Communicate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, clients, Project Managers, and field personnel regarding project issues and progress
• Solicit and coordinate Division 1 bids and services, including dumpsters, job trailers, surveys, and testing, with Project Manager approval
• Coordinate submittal workflows and final approvals with Project Managers
• Prepare subcontractor change order requests and purchase order requests for added scope or unforeseen conditions for Project Manager approval
• Assist subcontractors and clients with Procore access and project documentation workflows
• Provide project administration and coordination support to Project Managers and Superintendents throughout construction and closeout
• Assist with implementation and documentation of jobsite safety programs
• Support project closeout activities, including final documentation and outstanding project requirements

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience assisting project managers on commercial construction projects
• Experience with commercial construction project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, construction drawings, and project schedules
• Experience coordinating with subcontractors, vendors, Project Managers, Superintendents, architects, or engineers on commercial construction projects
• Experience with subcontractor buyout, bid solicitation, quantity takeoffs, estimating support, invoice processing, payment applications, or construction cost tracking
• Experience using Procore or comparable construction project management software

Compensation

• Base salary in the 65k - 75k/year range
