Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a Combat System Analyst to evaluate command-and-decision algorithms and analyze ground test, flight test, and operational data for missile defense systems. You will join a collaborative team of software and systems engineers, analysts, mathematicians, and technical leaders to evaluate current and future Aegis baselines and IAMD architectures.

A BS degree with 2+ years of experience and MATLAB/Python skills are required, along with U.S.

Qualifications

  • BS Degree or higher in Systems Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Applied Physics, Mathematics, or comparable background.
  • 2+ years of experience conducting combat systems engineering and/or analysis of missile defense system test data.
  • Strong skills in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • U.S. citizenship with eligibility for Interim Secret then Final Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Validate system performance for current and future Integrated Air and Missile Defense Systems through analysis of ground test, flight test, and operational data.
  • Develop techniques to improve analysis processes and anomaly identification.
  • Collaborate with sponsors and prime contractor representatives to conduct root-cause analysis and develop corrective actions.
  • Develop domain knowledge of Aegis command-and-decision algorithms and IAMD concepts.
