Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) seeks a detail-oriented Systems Engineer/Analyst to join the Distributed Tactical Awareness and Decision-Making Group. You will help integrate and network advanced weapons with sophisticated sensor systems into air and missile defense platforms, contributing to mission engineering and systems engineering products.

You will develop concepts for anti-air warfare, study complex system-of-systems integrations, and build deep expertise on

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Applied Math or equivalent field.
  • 3+ years of engineering, technical analysis, or systems integration experience.
  • Experience in AAW, BMD, SuW, or precision strike.
  • Ability to obtain Secret level security clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts for anti-air warfare, surface warfare, and precision strike.
  • Solve complex systems-of-systems integration challenges for U.S. Navy platforms.
  • Develop deep expertise on command-and-control systems such as Aegis, SSDS and Zumwalt.
  • Analyze data flows, software logic, interfaces, and mission engineering to develop new capabilities.
  • Generate MS&A studies and engineering products including requirements and test plans.
  • Prepare for and participate in technical interchange meetings with contractors, government, and labs.
